Would a relationship between 2 people with different backgrounds (country, language, culture, race) last longer than a "normal" relationship? It should, right?
I mean, the language/culture barrier would act as an extra-filter against the bullshit a fellow-national would serve you through artistical phrases and treacherous words.
Plus, when dealing with foreigners, people at least start by showing them respect. Or more respect than to a conational.
