... as in no special demands or limits that you have to accept. As in being yourself in a relationship or in marriage. As in unrestrained emotions. As in feeling comfortable when the other person is around.
That's something very difficult to achieve because we always have to keep something to ourselves, we have to lie from time to time just so that the other person doesn't feel hurt, we all have to hide emotions sometimes so that the other person doesn't misunderstand our reacrtions.
I say this: one's personality is kind of like an onion - multiple layers or masks. The core is how we really are. That's where emotions are coming from. Everything else is just acting, playing a role that we think the other person wants/should to see.
Being in a relationship with no strings attached can be achieved only if the other person is able to make you remove your outer layers and be yourself. Otherwise you'd simply display a mask to your gf/bf ... which, let's admit it, it's not so different from doing the same with a stranger. And it's also a little bit ... pathetic.
