What is that keeps us going in life? Is it faith? Is it luck? Is it our desire to better ouselves? Or is it the influence of the environment, the entourage?
I heard this not long ago, in a movie: You can settle for a less than ordinary life. Or do you feel like you were meant for something better? Something special? Quite inspiring, isn't it?
I will be honest and admit I have been using such phrases as motivational tools. But I bet I'm not the only one who saw in Any given Sunday just a movie and that a lot of people have used it as a motivational tool.
Some people can motivate themselves by different means. Some people talk to themselves. Others listen to music when they need to do something that seems very difficult to achieve. Some people are motivated by others' achievements. It's called competitive spirit. They used to tell us in school that America was built on that. And look where they are now: they're #1!
But what most people need to boost their motivation is simply ... other people. I mean so many times just listening to what other people have to say about things, has a significant impact on our actions.
Motivating others is just not for everybody. It takes skills to be able to pull that off. I mean the person you're trying to motivate could easily realize when what you're is bullshitting and not motivating.
Someone once told me that settling for less means death. If there's nothing left for you to dream of, you might as well die. Without progress a civilization dies. Without hopes, dreams, goals an individual dies.
